Telecom Projects / Rooftop
In urban areas where space is often at a premium consideration is then given to Rooftop sites. As the name suggests these are built on existing buildings, usually by pole mounted antennae or a stub tower on the roof. Planning issues often require that the site be made as unobtrusive as possible and blends into the existing environment. Measures to conform include flagpole antennae mounts, visible equipment and cables being painted to match the building face; GRP shrouds that match the brickwork / stonework being fitted over the transmission equipment. In one instance a false roof was built onto a block of flats with GRP panels in front of the antennae.
